چکیده
This study aims to utilize biochars derived from residual biomass as supports for Ni-based catalysts. For the preparation of biochars, byproducts agro-industrial activities were used, such espresso coffee residue (C) and rice husks (R). Sufficient quantities respective (BioC BioR) prepared via pyrolysis at 850 °C aforementioned materials under limited oxygen conditions. The further treated with hot water (WBioC, WBioR), H3PO4 or H2SO4 solution (BioC-P, BioC-S, BioR-P, BioR-S), NaOH (BioC-A BioR-A), obtained solids characterized using various physicochemical techniques. produced microporous high surface areas (367–938 m2g−1). most promising selected nickel catalysts (10 wt.% Ni) Ni dispersion (mean crystal size: 8.2–9.8 nm) suitable acidity. evaluated in a high-pressure semi-batch reactor transformation waste cooking oil (WCO) into green diesel. 10Ni_BioC-P catalyst exhibited best performance, resulting complete conversion WCO but low hydrocarbon yield (7.5%). Yield improvement was achieved by promoting this molybdenum. addition Mo increased almost three times (19.5%).

Valorization of Solid Waste Residues from Olive Oil Mills: A Review
The solid waste residues from olive oil mills constitute an environmental threat if disposed of in the natural environment, as it is common practice in many areas. This review summarizes the efforts of the scientific and technical community to develop appropriate technologies for the valorization of these wastes. The majority of the research towards this purpose focuses on the recovery of high-...
متن کاملEnzymatic Production of Bio-Diesel from Waste Cooking Oil Using Lipase
The applications of lipase immobilized on ceramic beads and entrapped in sol-gel matrix, in the production of bio-diesel from waste cooking oil, are compared to that of free lipase. Experimental determination of the effect of molar equivalent of methanol, to moles of ester bond in the triglyceride, on the rate of the enzymatic trans-esterification was experimentally determined. It was found tha...
متن کاملValorization of biomass: deriving more value from waste.
Most of the carbon-based compounds currently manufactured by the chemical industry are derived from petroleum. The rising cost and dwindling supply of oil have been focusing attention on possible routes to making chemicals, fuels, and solvents from biomass instead. In this context, many recent studies have assessed the relative merits of applying different dedicated crops to chemical production...
